Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County (HPCIC) has been awarded three “Best of Iredell” awards, presented by the Statesville Record & Landmark and Mooresville Tribune.

Best Nurse: Kristin Lowe

From Kristin Lowe, hospice nurse at the Gordon Hospice House:

“I honestly don’t know if I have the right words for how much this means to me. I’m completely overwhelmed with gratitude. For 35 years, nursing has been such a huge part of who I am. I have held hands, celebrated victories, and had the incredible privilege of being beside people during some of the most difficult and sacred moments of their lives.

There have been wonderful days and there have been days that made me question myself- but through it all, I have always tried to remember why I became a nurse in the 1st place: To care for people. To everyone who voted for me, believed in me, encouraged me, worked beside me, or trusted me to care for you or someone you love- thank you. You have no idea how deeply this touched my heart.

35 years later, I am still proud to say: I am a nurse.

And today, I am incredibly humbled and honored to say that I am your Best of Iredell Nurse of 2026. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.”
