Bridges Adult Grief Support
Bridges is the adult grief support program of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County. Bridges offers individual and group support to adults grieving the death of a loved one. Grief is an individual experience, but you do not have to journey alone.
Bridges services are always available at no cost.

Grief Support for All
Bridges is proud to provide grief support for all individuals in our community who are dealing with the death of a loved one. Whether your loved one received hospice care from Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County or not, our Bridges program provides compassionate grief support at no cost.
For Families of Hospice Patients: When a loved one dies while receiving hospice care from Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, Medicare requires hospice providers to offer grief/bereavement support to family members and identified loved ones for at least 13 months following the death. Our commitment extends beyond that requirement. Families may continue to access grief support for as long as it is helpful, and our services are available at no cost.
Grief Support Services
- Ongoing Grief Support Groups:
- Statesville – 1st Monday of the month at the Brown Family Grief Center from 12:30-2:00 PM. Please enter through the far left door. In September 2026, this group will meet on September 14th. RSVP by calling 704-924-4335.
- Mooresville – 4th Tuesday of the month at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House from 12:30-2:00 PM. Please park and enter in the rear of the building. RSVP by calling 704-924-4335.
- Loss-Specific Support Groups: Bridges offers support groups for specific losses (such as death of a spouse or death of a parent). To view these and sign up, visit our News & Events page.
- Individual Grief Counseling: We offer individual grief support sessions by phone or in person with our grief counselors. This is a space where you can share your grief concerns confidentially. A session is generally 50 minutes in length. Counseling is available at our Statesville and Mooresville locations. As needed, a grief counselor can also visit you at your home.
- Grief Education: Grief education is available to the community as classes or workshops. These can be held at civic clubs, church groups, etc., to help facilitate discussion and teach about the grief journey. The Brown Family Grief Center
The Brown Family Grief Center is the home of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County’s Rainbow Kidz children’s grief program and Bridges adult grief support program.
Located at 2351 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625, the Brown Family Grief Center will provide a dedicated, welcoming environment designed specifically for hope, connection, and healing.
Services will be offered at no cost and include grief counseling, support groups, and educational programs for individuals of all ages.

Rainbow Kidz Children’s Grief Program
Rainbow Kidz is the children’s grief program of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County.
Rainbow Kidz helps children and families cope with illness and grief by providing extraordinary care and support at home, in schools, and throughout our community.
Rainbow Kidz services are always available at no cost.
