Wherever a patient calls home, Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County can provide a comprehensive array of holistic medical, emotional, and spiritual support services designed to provide a better quality end-of-life experience.
Our homecare patients benefit from expert pain and symptom management while remaining in a familiar setting surrounded by the comforting presence of friends and family. They also enjoy peace of mind in knowing that our nursing staff are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for any medical need that may arise.
Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County's team of hospice professionals – physicians, nurse practitioners, registered and licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, medical social workers, bereavement counselors, chaplains, and trained volunteers – work together to provide care in private residences, assisted living or long-term care facilities and hospitals.
HPCIC's registered nurses, specially trained in hospice care, visit patients and their caregivers at least once weekly to check vital signs, administer medications, and discuss symptoms and other concerns.
Other members of the hospice caregiving team, including social workers, grief counselors, chaplains, and volunteers, also make in-home visits to provide non-medical support according to the unique care plan developed for each patient.
Furthermore, HPCIC's certified nursing assistants give family caregivers respite by assisting with bathing, grooming, changing bed linens, and maintaining a safe and sanitary living area for the patient.
In addition, we can provide medications and select medical equipment and supplies, such as wheelchairs, oxygen, bandages, and catheters, in the home when needed to manage the patient's hospice diagnosis.
Another way HPCIC ensures that our patients receive the best quality care at home is by supporting the friends and family members who serve as the patient's primary caregiver(s). We offer education and instruction to help caregivers better understand the patient's condition and follow the plan of care between visits from hospice staff.
In addition, CNAs and volunteers may provide the primary caregiver the opportunity to take a much-needed rest from the stress of continuous care.
