The professionals of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County are charged with fulfilling our mission of helping our patients and their families meet their end-of-life goals. They are united in service by our core values of compassion, respect, integrity, teamwork and excellence. 

The populations of the communities we serve continues to grow as does the need for quality hospice and palliative care clinical and administrative professionals.  As a result, HPCIC is always recruiting full-time, part-time and PRN staff. Specific positions will be updated here as they become available, but we encourage you to complete the application so that your information is on file in our office.

We keep our applications for employment for at least 12 months, and when positions are added or become open, we pull from our current applications first to fill those positions.

Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County requires the COVID-19 vaccination for all employees. All new hires are required to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine series (either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine) within 35 days of their first day of employment. This is a condition of employment, unless a religious or medical exemption is approved. Appropriate documentation must be submitted within the designated timeframes once an offer of employment is made.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Candidates must hold a current license as a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred.  Two years of CNA experience preferred.   Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.

Current Openings: 

  • PRN Certified Nurse Aide (As Needed). Position will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.
  • PRN Certified Nurse Aide (As Needed). Position will serve the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville and S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville covering days, nights, and weekends.
  • Part-Time Certified Nurse Aide (24 hours) covering nights 8pm - 8am serving the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
  • Part-Time Certified Nurse Aide (24 hours).  Position will serve Homecare patients in Statesville.  Must have reliable transportation.
  • Part-Time Certified Nurse Aide covering Saturday and Sunday 8am-8pm.  Position will serve the S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville.
  • Full-Time Certified Nurse Aide covering Monday-Friday.  Position will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Candidates must hold a current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.  Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.  One year experience working in palliative care or hospice as an LPN preferred. 

Current Openings: 

  • Part-time LPN for Palliative Care Program: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate LPN to join our team. The LPN will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure the best possible care for our patients including but not limited to assisting with triage phone calls and scheduling and processing orders.

 

Registered Nurses

Candidates must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred. Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.  Two years experience as an RN preferred.  

Current Openings: 

  • Part-Time Registered Nurse (24 hours)covering 8pm-8am Sunday and Monday nights.  This position serves the S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville.
  • PRN Registered Nurse serving S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville and Gordon Hospice House in Statesville covering days, nights and weekends.
  • Part-Time Registered Nurse (24 hours) covering Saturday and Sunday 8am-8pm.  this position serves the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
  • Full Time Registered Nurse in our Homecare department covering 9am-9pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday with call/holiday rotation required.
  • PRN Hospital Liaison for local healthcare facilities.  Provide education and resources to patients, families and healthcare professional on hospice and palliative care services.

 

Housekeeping

  • Full-time position in Housekeeping serving the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
  • Part-time position in Housekeeping covering Saturdays and Sundays.  Serving the S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville.

 

Dietary

  • Full-time Day shift position in Dietary with rotating weekend coverage serving the S. Mitchell Mack House Hospice House in Mooresville.
  • Full-time Day shift position in Dietary with rotating weekend coverage serving the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

 

Rainbow Kidz Grief Support Licensed Clinical Social Worker

  • A PRN Rainbow Kidz Licensed Social Worker is needed to provide grief counseling in local schools via grief centered groups or individual counseling in local Statesville and Mooresville hospice offices. Schedule to be determined.  License in Social work is REQUIRED.  Candidate should be an independent, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills, experience with children/teen counseling preferred.  Home health/hospice experience is helpful.  Clear understanding of end-of-life care process also preferred. Competitive hourly rate available including mileage reimbursement.  

 

Chad Burgin

Chad Burgin

Director of Human Resources

Chad Burgin joined Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County in July of 2012 as our Operations Manager.  Chad moved into the Director of Operations role in 2017 and into his current role as Director of Human Resources in 2020.

Chad received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a concentration in Legal Studies from Appalachian State University in 2008.  He is a native of Iredell County and currently resides in Statesville with his son.
