The professionals of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County are charged with fulfilling our mission of helping our patients and their families meet their end-of-life goals. They are united in service by our core values of compassion, respect, integrity, teamwork and excellence. 

The populations of the communities we serve continues to grow as does the need for quality hospice and palliative care clinical and administrative professionals.  As a result, HPCIC is always recruiting full-time, part-time and PRN staff. Specific positions will be updated here as they become available, but we encourage you to complete the application so that your information is on file in our office.

We keep our applications for employment for at least 12 months, and when positions are added or become open, we pull from our current applications first to fill those positions.

Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County requires the COVID-19 vaccination for all employees. All new hires are required to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine series (either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine) within 35 days of their first day of employment. This is a condition of employment, unless a religious or medical exemption is approved. Appropriate documentation must be submitted within the designated timeframes once an offer of employment is made.

Certified Nursing Assistant

Candidates must hold a current license as a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred.  Two years of CNA experience preferred.   Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.

Current Openings: 

  • PRN Certified Nurse Aide (As Needed). Position will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.
  • PRN Certified Nurse Aide (As Needed). Position will serve the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville and S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville covering days, nights, and weekends.
  • Part-Time Certified Nurse Aide (24 hours) covering nights 8pm - 8am serving the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
  • Full-Time Certified Nurse Aide covering Monday-Friday.  Position will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.  

Registered Nurses

Candidates must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred. Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.  Two years experience as an RN preferred.  

Current Openings: 

  • Full-Time Registered Nurse (36 hours) covering nights 8pm - 8am.  This position serves the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
  • Part-Time Registered Nurse (24 hours)covering 8pm-8am Sunday and Monday nights.  This position serves the S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville.
  • PRN Registered Nurse serving S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville and Gordon Hospice House in Statesville covering days, nights and weekends.
  • Full Time Registered Nurse in our Homecare department covering 9am-9pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday with call/holiday rotation required.

Nurse Practitioner

Candidates must hold a current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of North Carolina.  A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.  Two years experience as an NP preferred with experience in oncology and family practice ideal.  Experience in hospice and palliative care preferred.

Current Openings: 

  • Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County is recruiting for a full time Nurse Practitioner to provide care to patients with advanced life threatening/life limiting illnesses in Iredell County and surrounding areas.  Candidates should be caring, self-directed, and comfortable with providing care in a variety of settings including homecare, nursing facilities and hospice inpatient units.  This position will primarily work with the Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Team to provide hospice & palliative care in an outpatient setting under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.  Responsibilities include pain and symptom management, education and counseling for patients and families regarding disease progression and prognosis, completion of Advanced Care Directives and serving as an educational resource both within the organization and outside community.   

Housekeeping

  • Full-time position in Housekeeping serving the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.

 

Social Worker

  • A Part-Time (24-30 hours)  Social Worker is needed to cover homecare patients in the Statesville area. Masters Degree in Social Work is REQUIRED. Candidate should be an independent, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills. Two years of medical social work experience required with home health/hospice and /or facility experience preferred.  Clear understanding of end-of-life care process also preferred. Competitive salary and full benefit package are available including mileage reimbursement and cell phone stipend.  

 

Chad Burgin

Chad Burgin

Director of Human Resources

Chad Burgin joined Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County in July of 2012 as our Operations Manager.  Chad moved into the Director of Operations role in 2017 and into his current role as Director of Human Resources in 2020.

Chad received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a concentration in Legal Studies from Appalachian State University in 2008.  He is a native of Iredell County and currently resides in Statesville with his son.
