The populations of the communities we serve continues to grow as does the need for quality hospice and palliative care clinical and administrative professionals.  As a result, HPCIC is always recruiting full-time, part-time and PRN staff. Hospice & Palliative Nurse Practitioner:

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to provide care to patients with advanced life-threatening and life limiting illnesses in Iredell County and surrounding areas.  Candidates should be compassionate, self-directed, and comfortable providing care in variety of settings including homecare, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and hospice inpatient units. This position will primarily work with the Hospice Interdisciplinary Teams to provide hospice and palliative services in an outpatient setting under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.  Responsibilities include pain and symptom management, completion of hospice Face to Face visits, symptom management visits, and timely documentation in accordance with Medicare guidelines.  Additional responsibilities include education and counseling for patients and families regarding disease progression and prognosis, completion of Advance Care Directives, and serving as an educational resource within the organization and the community.  Competitive benefits package available.  Two years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred, ideally in hospice and palliative care, geriatrics, oncology, family practice or related fields.  Hospice and Palliative care experience strongly preferred.

PRN Hospice & Palliative Nurse Practitioner:

We are seeking a compassionate and flexible PRN Nurse Practitioner to support out hospice and palliative care services across multiple locations based on organizational need. This role may include hospice and palliative home visits, rounding in our Inpatient Unit (IPU), and providing palliative care consults at our local hospital. The ideal candidate is self motivated, adaptable to a variety of care settings and committed to delivering high-quality, patient centered care. Strong collaboration skills and team oriented approach are essential, along with a deep respect for patients and families during serious illness and end of life care. Previous experience in hospice and palliative care preferred but not required.

 

Bereavement Administrative Support:

We are seeking a motivated and organized team member who has good interpersonal and customer service skills to provide administrative support to our Brown Family Grief Center in Statesville, NC. This applicant must be able to interact with a diverse group of individuals while displaying a professional demeanor and maintaining confidentiality. This applicant must also have experience with statistical data, survey support and aggregation. This position is a full time role. Associates Degree is preferred with experience in office management and support required. Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel applications is also required.

 

Hospice Community Education and Outreach Nurse:

This position will serve as a clinical educator and strategic outreach partner responsible for delivering accurate, compliant, and evidence-based education to external healthcare providers, referral sources, patients, and community stakeholders. This role supports appropriate hospice utilization, promotes earlier access to care and aligns with ACHC Hospice Standards, CMS conditions or Participation (42 CFR Part 418) and applicable regulations. This position contributes to QAPI initiatives and supports community access, including rural and underserved populations.

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).

 

Inpatient Services Coordinator:

We are seeking a compassionate coordinator to help lead our Hospice Inpatient Units (IPUs) located in Mooresville and Statesville.  The Inpatient Services Coordinator supports the daily operations of the IPUs to ensure consistent, high quality, patient centered care.  This position works closely with and reports to the Senior Director of Inpatient Services/Education and Assistant Director of IPU serving as a liaison between clinical staff, leadership and the education department.  The coordinator assists in managing staff, scheduling, education and regulatory compliance.  The coordinator will actively fill in staffing and perform patient admissions for the IPUs as needed to maintain continuity of care.  This role fosters a collaborative and supportive environment that reflects the hospice mission and values. 

Qualifications include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current RN license in NC
  • Hospice and Palliative Care Experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills: competence in clinical assessment and patient admissions; excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency with EHR systems and scheduling software; knowledge of hospice regulations and quality standards

 

Assistant In-Patient Unit Director (Weekend)

We are looking for an Assistant Director to assist in the management and coordination of the In-Patient Units (IPUs), providing operational and clinical leadership during weekend coverage.  Responsibilities include ensuring consistent leadership presence, overseeing staffing coordination, supporting clinical operations, promoting effective communication among team members, and maintaining continuity and quality of patient care.  Qualifications include graduation from an approved school of professional nursing with a BSN preferred or graduation from an approved school of professional nursing and four years experience providing direct patient care with one year in home care nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Certification as a Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse is preferred.  (Required to obtain within 2 years of hire.)

 

Certified Nursing Assistants:

Candidates must hold a current license as a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred.  Two years of CNA experience preferred.   Competitive hourly rate is available and a full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.

    CNA Homecare Openings: 

  • Part-time Certified Nurse Aide covering Saturdays and Sundays 9am-9pm (24 hours).  Holiday rotation required.  Both positions will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.
  • PRN Certified Nurse Aide (As Needed). Position will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.

   

     CNA Inpatient Unit Openings:

  • Full-time Certified Nurse Aide position- 36 hours weekly (8p-8a)
  • Part-time Certified Nurse Aide position- 24 hours weekly. (8p-8a)
  • Full-time Certified Nurse Assistant position- 36 hours per week (8a-8p)
  • Part-time Certified Nurse Assistant position- 24 hours per week (8a-8p)
  • PRN Certified Nurse Aide (As needed).

 

Registered Nurses:

Candidates must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred. Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A benefit package is available for all full time roles.  Two years experience as an RN preferred.

      RN Homecare Openings: 

  • Full-time case manager position is available in our homecare department based in the Mooresville area.  Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.  On call and holiday rotation required.
  • Full-time case manager position is available in our homecare department based in the Statesville area.  Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.  On call and holiday rotation required.
  • Full time (30 hour) weekend triage RN position is available in our homecare department.  The schedule includes every Friday (in office), Saturday and Sunday (primarily remote) from 7am-5pm.  Holiday rotation required.

     RN Inpatient Unit Openings:

  • Full-time RN position available in our inpatient units covering 36 hours/week 8am-8pm rotating every other weekend.
  • Full-time RN position available in our inpatient units covering 36 hours/week 8pm-8am rotating every other weekend.
  • Part-time RN position available in our inpatient unit covering 2 days 8am-8pm. 

 

Housekeeper:

Full-time float housekeeper needed for Mooresville and Statesville inpatient facilities.

 

Dietary:

Full-time (40 hour) dietary aide needed for Mooresville and Statesville inpatient facilities.
