The populations of the communities we serve continues to grow as does the need for quality hospice and palliative care clinical and administrative professionals.  As a result, HPCIC is always recruiting full-time, part-time and PRN staff. Specific positions will be updated here as they become available, but we encourage you to complete the application so that your information is on file in our office.

Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County requires the COVID-19 vaccination for all employees. All new hires are required to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine series (either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine) within 35 days of their first day of employment. This is a condition of employment, unless a religious or medical exemption is approved. Appropriate documentation must be submitted within the designated timeframes once an offer of employment is made.

If a religious or medical exemption is granted employees will be required to follow the policy for unvaccinated staff which includes weekly COVID-19 testing using nasal swabs and wearing masks.

Nurse Practitioner

Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County is recruiting for a full time Nurse Practitioner to provide care to patients with advanced life threatening/life limiting illnesses in Iredell County and surrounding areas.  Candidates should be caring, self-directed, and comfortable with providing care in a variety of settings including homecare, nursing facilities and hospice inpatient units.

This position will primarily work with the Palliative Care Interdisciplinary Team to provide hospice & palliative care in an outpatient setting under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.  Responsibiites include pain and symptom management, education and counseling for patients and families regarding disease progression and prognosis, completion of Advanced Care Directives and serving as an educational resource both within the organization and the outside community.

Competitive benefit package available.  Two years as a nurse practioner with experience in oncology and family practice ideal, experience and hospice & palliative care preferred.

 

Certified Nursing Assistant

Candidates must hold a current license as a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred.  Two years of CNA experience preferred.   Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.

Current Openings: 

  • PRN Certified Nurse Aide (As Needed), position will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.
  • Full-Time Certified Nurse Aide covering Monday-Friday, position will serve the Homecare patients in Statesville and Mooresville.  
  • Full-Time Certified Nurse Aide covering Friday/Saturday/Sunday from 8am - 8pm, position will serve the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

 

Registered Nurses

Candidates must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.  Home health/hospice and/or facility experience preferred. Competitive hourly rate is available for part time and PRN positions. A full-time benefit package is available for all full time roles.  Two years experience as an RN preferred.  

Current Openings: 

  • Part-Time Registered Nurse covering 8am-8pm Saturday and Sunday. This position will serve the Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
  • Full-Time Registered Nurse covering 8am-8pm on weekends.(Friday/Saturday/Sunday)  This position serves the S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville.
  • PRN Registered Nurse serving S. Mitchell Mack House in Mooresville and Gordon Hospice House in Statesville covering days, nights and weekends.

 

Housekeeping

  • Part-Time housekeeper serving the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House.  Hours are 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM Saturday, Sunday and one day during the week.

 

Dietary

Competitive hourly rate is available as well as a full-time benefit package.  Dietary/Kitchen experience is required and facility/hospice/ kitchen experience is helpful.  

  • Full-Time Dietary/Kitchen position covering Tuesday - Friday from 7:30am - 4pm, Position is based at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.
  • Full-Time Dietary/Kitchen position covering weekends plus one week day.  Position is based at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville.

Volunteer Services Administrative Support

  • Full-Time (30 hours per week) hourly weekday position is available.  This position will be split between our Statesville and Mooresville Campuses but will primarily be stationed in Mooresville.  This employee will be responsible for the administrative duties of the Vounteer Services Department.  Duties include but not limited to overseeing volunteers on the Mooresville team, attending Mooresville Team IDG bi-weekly meetings, coordinating and scheduling volunteer opportunities, pulling and reporting data from volunteer software, assisting in monthly volunteer training and education, reporting statistical data and maintaining volunteer databases.  Proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office products is required.  Strength in data entry and customer service is also needed.  Experience with administrative support is required.  Position may include occasional nights and weekends.

Chad Burgin

Chad Burgin

Director of Human Resources

Chad Burgin joined Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County in July of 2012 as our Operations Manager.  Chad moved into the Director of Operations role in 2017 and into his current role as Director of Human Resources in 2020.

Chad received his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a concentration in Legal Studies from Appalachian State University in 2008.  He is a native of Iredell County and currently resides in Statesville with his son.
