HPCIC Named 2025 Hospice CAHPS Honors Elite Recipient

Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County (HPCIC) is proud to have been awarded Hospice Honors Elite for 2025, as measured by CAHPS satisfaction scores. Thank you to our staff and volunteers who have made this possible! We could not achieve this recognition without the hard work of our amazing team.

The Hospice CAHPS Honors program distributes awards to hospice agencies that have scored above the MatrixCare National Score on at least 20 of the evaluated questions. These evaluations are filled out by patient families, and cover topics such as communication with family, patient/family getting timely help, staff treating the patient with respect, help for pain and symptoms, and more.

MatrixCare holds a special recognition, Hospice Honors Elite, to honor hospices scoring above the MatrixCare National Performance Score on 100%, or all twenty-four, of the evaluated questions.

HPCIC is honored to be recognized by this prestigious award, and it shows the commitment of our staff and volunteers in providing extraordinary care to every one of our patients. HPCIC is one of only 4 North Carolina hospice organizations to receive Hospice Honors Elite in 2025, and one of only 16 North Carolina hospice organizations to receive a Hospice Honors award for 2025.

In an email to staff, HPCIC President/CEO Mike Smith said, “Words cannot even begin to describe how proud I am of all of you for this incredible accomplishment! Hospice Honors Elite is something you should all be extremely proud of, and every single one of you played a part in this. I would also like for you all to take a moment to consider what this means. Yes, awards are great, but more important is the consistent, high-quality, second-to-none care you deliver to the moms, dads, siblings, cousins, grandparents, and loved ones in our community. They deserve YOU!”
