Gifts of Cash
A gift of cash or by check is the easiest way to make a gift to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County.  The gift is deductible up to 50% of your adjusted gross income in the year in which you make your gift, assuming you can itemize. Gifts In Memory Of
A memorial gift to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County honors the memory of someone who touched your life in a special way. Often, families ask for memorials to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County in funeral notices as a way of honoring loved ones. Many people make annual memorial contributions to remember the birthday or anniversary of a loved one. Your gift will be acknowledged to family members or someone else you specify.

Gifts In Honor Of
You can help support Hospice at the same time you express your appreciation or love and respect for a living family member, friend, coworker or other special person. Such a contribution is a thoughtful way to remember someone's birthday or anniversary. The person honored by your contribution will receive a card announcing your gift

Annual Gifts / Membership
Those persons who choose to support the work of Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County with an annual gift are "Members of Hospice." The generosity of annual givers enables Hospice to continue to help patients and their families regardless of ability to pay and to continue providing services, such as grief counseling, not reimbursed by third-party insurers.

Gifts of Stock or Mutual Funds
A gift of securities can be very tax wise. Appreciated stock or mutual funds held long term can be given to Hospice without generating any capital gains tax. The full fair market value is available to Hospice to support our mission. Not only do you avoid capital gains tax, but you are also entitled to a charitable income tax deduction for the full fair market value! This amount can be deducted up to 30% of your adjusted gross income in the year you make your gift. Any excess can be carried forward for up to five additional years.

Gifts of Real Estate
Consider a gift of real estate that has been held more than one year and has appreciated in value. Gifts of vacation homes, vacant land, personal residences, and even commercial property are accorded the same tax advantages as the securities described above. A qualified appraisal is required by the Internal Revenue Service to substantiate your income tax deduction.

Planned Gifts
A planned gift is any contribution that is arranged or provided for during the giver's lifetime, but may not actually be received in its entirety by Hospice until after the donor's death. A planned gift is often made through a will, a life insurance policy, or a trust.
Planned gifts may be in the form of cash, real estate, stocks, or other assets.  Planned giving enables you to make a major gift to Hospice without sacrificing spendable income.

Gifts Through Your Will Or Trust
Naming Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, Inc. as a beneficiary in your will, trust, life insurance, or retirement plan truly provides a lasting legacy. Planned gifts provide the long-term support that is so critically needed to ensure that quality care will be provided for future generations. Individuals making planned gifts are recognized as special contributors. Of course, requests for anonymity are honored. If you make a planned gift, please let us know so that we may thank you for your foresight and generosity.

Gifts of Life Insurance
Hospice can be named as the beneficiary or owner of a life insurance policy, whether the policy is fully paid up or premiums still remain.

Gifts in Kind
Hospice patients and families have many needs. Air conditioners, medical equipment, linens, etc. are needed from time to time.  As well a "Wish list" is kept in the Development office and includes a changing list of items based on the needs of patients at the Gordon Hospice House. Rather than purchase an item you feel Hospice could use, we ask that you call to determine how best to make an in-kind gift. Call the Director for Development at 704-873-4719  ext. 4312
