Bereavement Services
Grief is the most intense and often the longest-lasting emotion we experience. It is almost impossible to prepare for, and difficult to get over. It can last for months or years and profoundly affect the way we live.
To help people understand and cope with their grief, Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County offers a broad range of support services for adults and children. Grief counseling services are offered for a full year after the death of a loved one.
Experienced and compassionate counselors and other professionals of hospice, reach out to surviving family members in a number of ways with support and reassurance. Both individual counseling and support groups are available. There is guidance for parents, teachers and others on how to respond to the needs of grieving children.
Educational programs on grief, death and dying, and other topics are available to churches, schools, and nursing homes upon request, and as one of many ways of giving back to our community, Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County offers ongoing Grief and Loss support group meetings, at no cost and open to anyone, regardless of whether or not they received hospice services. These meetings are held both in Statesville and in Mooresville.
